Below are the firms that money managers say are producing the best Brazilian securities research, ranked by total team positions. On top is UBS Pactual, which was created in December 2006 after Swiss banking giant UBS acquired Rio do Janeiro-based Banco Pactual. UBS Pactual’s 13 team positions are one fewer than the combined total of the two constituent firms last year, when Banco Pactual led with eight, and UBS was second, with six. Credit Suisse, doubling its five team position total from 2006, rises from third place to second.
